The Neon Zone.

First off, I have to apologize for neglecting my blog! I am such a bad owner and take full responsibility for my careless act. One hundred and one apologies.
I have been super, crazy busy with final high school exams, a part-time job and waving goodbye to the two most important people in my life, my mother and sister as they venture off overseas.
On another note this is my first personal style fashion post! How very exciting! I'm usually not one to stray away from my obsession with black but when I saw this top I fell in love and I had to have it.

School & Songs!

I can't believe August is coming to an end. I am blogging from my laptop at my school library (I'm supposed to be in class but instead I'm at the library, that's not classified as jigging/wagging right?). My eyes gaze at todays date and I am overwhelmed with fear by how fast this year is going. I graduate in less than a month and wave goodbye to thirteen years of schooling life and the depressing mornings of waking up at 7am, putting on my school clothes and expected to sit through 75 minutes of tormentous depression in classrooms.

I look forward to leaving school even though the outside or 'real' world may be scary. I can't wait to have a job that I love, a degree that will take me places and feel like a big girl accomplishing my dreams in this whirlwind we call life. I don’t know if I'm ready to begin a journey of change that creates new opportunities, to design a path to reach my goals, and at the same time achieve results but I am so ready to take on whatever obstacle I may be faced with to enjoy my job, career and my life.

Jill Pendley once said “Our lives a series of defining moments, strung together by passing time. Surrender fully to this moment, because it is not the moment itself that defines us, but how we choose to live in it.” Our defining moments will ultimately influence who we are in the years to come and our attitude towards society and the moments that happen around us. High school has been one of the greatest defining moments for me and the memories made will be treasured forever.

I have left you with a bit of tunes that have gotten me through the stresses of school, studying and exams.

Life.

This isn't a fashion related post (insert sad face) but as much as I love clothes and shopping I have a few other favourites. Sometimes I feel like quotes (and music but that's another topic) get me through a day and/or week tremendously. Like this one I found by Marjorie Pay Hinckley. "The trick is to enjoy life. Don't wish away your days, waiting for better ones ahead."  I feel like those couple sentences of pure encouragement get me out of bed in the morning, to walk to the station and catch that train, go to work and not call in sick every third day.
I'm currently in a state where I've lost all motivation and am not working hard enough to see the positive in every thing. But when I do come across two sentences fulfilling words full of wisdom and hope why not see the positive in this beautiful life. Ask yourself. Am I trying hard enough? Will it benefit me if I sit and cry about this? Do I really want to be stuck in this monotonous cycle my whole life? If you answered no, no and no then I suggest you take my word for it go out there, find what you love and seek the thrill and excitement of life.
As Jac Vanek says ... “You are the books you read, the films you watch, the music you listen to, the people you meet, the dreams you have, the conversations you engage in. You are what you take from these. You are the sound of the ocean, the breath of fresh air, the brightest light and the darkest corner. You are a collective of every experience you have had in your life. You are every single second of every single day. So drown yourself in a sea of knowledge and existence. Let the words run through your veins and let the colours fill your mind until there is nothing left to do but explode. There are no wrong answers. Inspiration is everything. Sit back, relax, and take it all in. Now, go out and create something.”

Have a lovely day/night!

Double Denim.

"I wish I had invented blue jeans", said Yves Saint Laurent and with great reason. I think the love for denim is the greatest. Whether it be jeans, jacket or shirt, denim is one of the most versatile pieces in our wardrobe and when paired together (denim on denim) create the perfect combination. Denim is a staple in every key outfit. A few denim icons that deserve a mention when styling the denim on denim look; Elvis Presley, Marlon Brando, Marilyn Monroe and of course Mr James Dean.

I owned my very first pair of jeans at the age of 9 and rocked the double denim (renown for being a "cute little girl" - I guess every mother wanted a denim clad child) which is quite embarrassing now that I think of it. But once again it has emerged as the greatest trend like it was back in the 60s (or in my case around '05) and will continue to steal the fashion limelight.

Karlie Kloss rocks denim on denim paired with
leather and chanel.

Zina Charkoplia from fashionvibe pairs black brogues
with an oversized denim jacket embossed with pearls.

These are just a few of my favourite denim looks that have been styled by both fashion bloggers and models (pictured above).

Rosie Fortescue!

The 23yo mega babe hit the UK big screen as an actress (playing a real life version of herself) on the reality TV series Made in Chelsea. Rosie also pursues a second job, running a fashion blog which is why I have decided to dedicate this post to her. I came across this photo of her here and fell in love with how effortlessly she rocked the monochrome trend. Her sense of style is immaculate.
So I did a bit of stalking, searched her on Google and I've put together a few of my favourite outfits.

She blurs the line between edgy and eccentric while still pulling off the feminine look. You'll find her photographed with her designer bags. Always.

In if not all, most of her outfits there is an element of leather. I love that she has stylish and affordable pieces from Topshop, Zara and Mink Pink but still has her own look.

Nonetheless it would be a dream come true to own her shoe closet. Just look at her shoes in all her fashion posts and you'll be thinking the same.
I'm so glad I've found this stylish fashionista. Go check her out for yourself, you can read Rosie's blog (here)
Have a lovely week

Hello Winter!

So it's finally (I say finally only because winter fashion is the GREATEST and not because of the weather as it gets bloody cold here) winter in Sydney, Australia and what better way to celebrate than with some 'Winter Wardrobe Essentials!' I'm a sucker for anything black but staple accessories like scarves are my key to layering any winter outfit. Winter is all about minimalism and sticking to neutral colours.

A couple of must haves to keep in your wardrobe this season ...

I've been a very bad blogger!

Hi guys! I know I haven't been a very great blogger the past three months! I'm sorry, I do hope I can keep posting but with exams and school I might be reconsidering, this is my last year of school (year 12 as we know it) and therefore the most important year considering if you want to enter university straight away, you will have to achieve a decent atar (a number, preferably above 50 to get you in your desired subject/course). I'm really aiming for my personal highest atar because I'm still misguided and indecisive on the course I want to do at uni, so I do have to put in all my effort and try my hardest in all my exams and assessments.

Anyway enough about the stresses of school. On another note, life has been great the past month/s in terms of shopping and I've scored some great necessities (being clothes and shoes). I'll leave photos at the end of this post so you guys can see for yourselves.

1. Dotti Shoulder Studded Blazer from DFO in Sydney, Australia. If you guys haven't checked out the Direct Factory Outlet you really haven't lost your retail sale virginity.
2. Sportsgirl Print Tee.
3. Sportsgirl Bomber Jacket.
4. Marco Gianni Studded Heels, these babies were fifteen dollars all I need now is the perfect outfit to go with them!

Can't wait to wear all these beautiful items and show them off. I'll keep you guys posted!
Have a lovely day!

Current Obsessions (wishlist).

These are a couple of the items life has laid my eyes upon, I think they might have become necessities (if only my life were not based around money and how quick to earn it).

Ever since I saw the Alexander Wang Rocco, quitting my job wasn't an option but rather finding another job. I literally think I might need about three jobs. I'll have to reconsider my options of buying such a wonderful bag. These are some of the hardest decisions I've had to deal with.

I've been obsessing over these lovely items since late last year and I'm still constantly dealing with that little voice in the back of my mind. I will buy them but it's just a matter of when, I'll keep you posted guys.
