School & Songs!

I can't believe August is coming to an end. I am blogging from my laptop at my school library (I'm supposed to be in class but instead I'm at the library, that's not classified as jigging/wagging right?). My eyes gaze at todays date and I am overwhelmed with fear by how fast this year is going. I graduate in less than a month and wave goodbye to thirteen years of schooling life and the depressing mornings of waking up at 7am, putting on my school clothes and expected to sit through 75 minutes of tormentous depression in classrooms.

I look forward to leaving school even though the outside or 'real' world may be scary. I can't wait to have a job that I love, a degree that will take me places and feel like a big girl accomplishing my dreams in this whirlwind we call life. I don’t know if I'm ready to begin a journey of change that creates new opportunities, to design a path to reach my goals, and at the same time achieve results but I am so ready to take on whatever obstacle I may be faced with to enjoy my job, career and my life.

Jill Pendley once said “Our lives a series of defining moments, strung together by passing time. Surrender fully to this moment, because it is not the moment itself that defines us, but how we choose to live in it.” Our defining moments will ultimately influence who we are in the years to come and our attitude towards society and the moments that happen around us. High school has been one of the greatest defining moments for me and the memories made will be treasured forever.

I have left you with a bit of tunes that have gotten me through the stresses of school, studying and exams.

Life.

This isn't a fashion related post (insert sad face) but as much as I love clothes and shopping I have a few other favourites. Sometimes I feel like quotes (and music but that's another topic) get me through a day and/or week tremendously. Like this one I found by Marjorie Pay Hinckley. "The trick is to enjoy life. Don't wish away your days, waiting for better ones ahead."  I feel like those couple sentences of pure encouragement get me out of bed in the morning, to walk to the station and catch that train, go to work and not call in sick every third day.
I'm currently in a state where I've lost all motivation and am not working hard enough to see the positive in every thing. But when I do come across two sentences fulfilling words full of wisdom and hope why not see the positive in this beautiful life. Ask yourself. Am I trying hard enough? Will it benefit me if I sit and cry about this? Do I really want to be stuck in this monotonous cycle my whole life? If you answered no, no and no then I suggest you take my word for it go out there, find what you love and seek the thrill and excitement of life.
As Jac Vanek says ... “You are the books you read, the films you watch, the music you listen to, the people you meet, the dreams you have, the conversations you engage in. You are what you take from these. You are the sound of the ocean, the breath of fresh air, the brightest light and the darkest corner. You are a collective of every experience you have had in your life. You are every single second of every single day. So drown yourself in a sea of knowledge and existence. Let the words run through your veins and let the colours fill your mind until there is nothing left to do but explode. There are no wrong answers. Inspiration is everything. Sit back, relax, and take it all in. Now, go out and create something.”

Have a lovely day/night!
